Hello again!

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to post! I have had a very busy last few weeks and often have trouble finding a chunk of time to sit down at the computer. Things in Paris have been really great and I can easily say that I know more about Paris and France than I ever thought I would. It is easy to sit in my room and forget where in the world I am but when I go out to the main spots along the Seine I immediately get that first rush of excitement back again. When I reflect on the last few weeks I realize I have a lot of exciting moments that are worth mentioning. I will detail some of them below.

Two weekends ago one of my best friends from high school came to visit me. My friend Allie has lived around the corner from me in Kitchener since I first met her and has remained one of my closest and dearest friends since. She studies at Ryerson University and is doing a semester abroad in Karlstad, Sweden. She and her friend Sam from Ryerson also took the weekend to come on over to Paris to see me! We did a lot of things and I feel like I gave them a pretty good tour of Paris, showing the popular spots but also the lesser-known hideouts. I think they had a really great time and I hope they will come back/I plan to visit them sometime soon also. Below is a picture of myself and Allie:

Another exciting thing that happened lately was the filming of a movie on our International City campus! If you remember my earlier pictures you will remember that the campus is quite exquisite, which is probably why it is part of the set for the future film "Three Days to Kill". It was exciting because the actor Kevin Costner was walking around, minutes away from my residence. You can see a picture of him below. I think the silly red thing he is holding is a "face-warmer", as they seemed to press it to his face immediately when the camera was off (and it was pretty chilly out).

And alas, the most recent excitement was that I had the opportunity to go to Italy for the first time this weekend. Two friends and I took a trip to Milan and Venice. I can officially say that I am in love with Italy and can not wait to go back! I will be posting some pictures very soon in my next blog post! I also have more exciting news...A bunch of us studying here from Guelph are going to take a big trip to Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague for our reading week! I will be leaving this upcoming Sunday the 17th and will be gone for nine days. I have always wanted to see these three cities and it is so exciting to have the opportunity to do this with a bunch of friends. I have a lot of research to do though as I will have to deal with the Czech, German and Dutch ways of doing things.

Until next time,

Sarah
