Below are some photos from this excursion. This blogger website sometimes puts my photos out of order so the photos below start with our trip to Burano, an island in the Venetian Lagoons. While in Venice we thought it would be fun to take a boat trip to this island, as it is known for its bright colours and it's original Italian glass and lace. Despite only having 2 hours to explore, as you can see from the photos, it was delightful!

One of my travel companions named Siobhan (pronounced Shavon) is Italian. We were so lucky to have her along on the trip because she knows Italian and knew all of the hot spots to see. Her mother's maiden name and her middle name is Moretti, so naturally we had to try the Italian beer with the same name:
